The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time Asst/Assoc/Full Professor rank in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. This position will oversee a new rural training track resident program located in Elko, NV. The position will be expected to contribute with distinction in the areas of clinical care, teaching, mentoring of trainees, and University and public service. Responsibilities include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care in all aspects of family medicine, preferably with obstetrical care and /or care of the patient in a rural setting. In addition we will be operating Telemedicine between Elko, Reno and surrounding rural areas. Experience in Telemedicine is preferred. Teaching will be required and will include supervision of medical students, 2nd and 3rd year residents in both inpatient and outpatients settings. The percent of time devoted to clinical care, teaching, and mentoring of trainees will be negotiated with the Department Chair. Specific responsibilities will include the following: • Provide direct patient care in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). • Promote and facilitate value-based practice operations, including, but not limited to, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) operations • Assist in teaching of medical students, residents and students in other healthcare fields in the Family Medical Center, other ambulatory care settings, and on the department’s hospital service • Serve on applicable Departmental, University Affiliated Hospitals and Community Committees as assigned. • Participate in the on-call schedule and attending on the hospital inpatient service. • Participate in scholarly work related to his/her clinical and/or teaching activities. • This position will be required to work and live in Elko, NV
The MD/DO and successful completion of an approved family medicine residency training program. • Demonstrated experience in the teaching of students and house staff. • Ability to obtain a Medical License in the State of Nevada. • Be Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine. • Recent clinical practice, including outpatient clinic, inpatient ward service. (preferably obstetrics) • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures of the University. • Experience in program resident operations is expected for Site Program Director
Additional Salary Information: Medical, dental, vision and matching retirement up to 14.5% of annual salary, tuition reimbursement, loan repayment. Sick, vacation and holiday time off.
