Summary: Responsible for the medical direction of the care and treatment of patients served by VNA Hospice & Palliative Care's interdisciplinary teams. Provides direction and guidance to the hospice and staff to ensure the maintenance of quality care for patients and families. Serves as a liaison between the program and community physicians, as well as with others engaged in health services. provides direct medical care as needed, to patients in the home and in multiple health care settings. Supervises and manages the medical staff and contract physicians.
Experience: Previous hospice or palliative medicine experience preferred. Previous medical administrative leadership experience required. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to make home or hospice residence visits.
Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Massachusetts. Board certification by American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in a recognized specialty. Hospice Medical Director Certified. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred.
