The VA Midwest Health Care Network (VISN 23) has opportunities for the intermittent position of Tele-Intensivist. This position involves attending in our Tele-ICU facility located at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. The VISN 23 Tele-ICU program serves fourteen VA medical centers in nine states and additional sites as the program expands.
Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care by an ABMS Board of Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology or Emergency Medicine. Active or recent ICU experience in a graduate medical academic setting is highly desirable. Previous experience in ICU telemedicine is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have an established and documented record of outstanding clinical, interpersonal, customer-service, communication and teaching skills, preferably in both the physical and virtual ICU setting.
