Carle Physician Group is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery 1st Assist PA or NP to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery Division in Urbana, Illinois.

Position Details Include:

• Experienced Advanced Practice Providers in Cardiothoracic Surgery are preferred - including surgical first-assisting, Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH), and perioperative patient care - but will consider other surgically-trained APPs who want to experience the professional satisfaction of cardiothoracic surgery.
• Join a team of two Cardiac Surgeons and six Advanced Practice Providers.
• Practice scope includes adult cardiothoracic surgery - CABG, valve surgery, TAVR.
• Opportunity to develop sub practice based on clinical interests.
• Comprehensive practice that includes surgery, clinic, and hospital rounding, allowing 1st Assist APP to practice full scope.
• Opportunity for academic and/or research affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, first program designed at the intersection of engineering and medicine.

In Fall 2013, a new state-of-the-art nine-story patient bed tower was completed. The Carle Heart and Vascular Institute is a key component of this new structure and encompasses both outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular services, including eight catheterization labs and the relocation of cardiac intensive care, stepdown and medical beds within the bed tower.

Education Requirements:

-Master's degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. 
-Training in surgical first assist and EVH required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: 

-Current Illinois physician assistant or nurse practitioner licensure.
