The incumbent is an independently licensed Neurologist assigned to Medicine Service as a Neurologist at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center. The Neurologist will provide patient care services within the scope and practice of a level 3 facility. The incumbent will provide patient care to the Neurology Service. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Neurologists will act as a consultant to our staff for patients with neurological disorders, provide care to patients in neurology clinic and provide education to patients and staff alike. Incumbent may serve on local committees as deemed necessary in support of the facility mission. A full range of neurological services for a diverse group of Veterans, providing diagnoses, treatment, and management of Physicians will perform as a consultant or staff physician for our inpatient service, and be credentialed to perform, review and interpret EEG and EMG studies along with Neurologists. Recommend services for patients utilizing care alternatives available within the community and nationally. Maintains appropriate documentation regarding patient care in VA's computerized record. Complies with all medical record documentation policies. Complies with all medical record and risk assessment documentation, policies/procedures, quality initiatives Review reports regarding utilization and high risk patients, utilizing information in the delivery of quality, cost effective health care services, and DME items. Collaborates with other services as appropriate. Provides e-Consult services as well. Participates in quality assurance programs and peer review. Ensures the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with standards of accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program, as well as other regulatory and inspection bodies/agencies that collaborate with VHA. Participates in the ongoing education activities related to care of stroke and neurological patients. Maintain appropriate patient records and satisfaction standards. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday with Nights/Weekend coverage as needed Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
